Is Sales for you?

"SALES" makes many (dare I say, most?) people cringe. 😬

But not all sales jobs are created equal. Especially not the selling done by an insurance producer.

Producer (whether EB or P&C ) is one of the best, most fun and lucrative gigs in the insurance industry, and while it is for sure a form of selling, I'd say you're just as much a consultant as you are a salesperson.

But if it were easy, everyone would do it, right?

I never said it was easy. But for the right person, it's strongly aligned with who you are and what you love to do at your core.

So how do you know if you're cut out for this role? Well, how many of the boxes below sound like you?

🎯You love the "rush" of deadlines, chaos. You might've waited til the last minute to write papers in college.

🎯You love the thrill of the kill. The win. The close.

🎯You are described as outgoing, tenacious, driven, motivated, persuasive.

🎯Crushing goals and controlling your earning potential motivates you.

🎯You're often the hardest worker in the group and you can motivate yourself while working autonomously.

🎯Rejection doesn't get you down for long. You can get kicked in the teeth and keep on moving.

🎯You're great at learning complex topics and then explaining them in layman's terms to others. (Teachers are awesome at this!)

🎯You're competitive. Maybe you were an athlete in high school or college.

🎯You know people. Lots of people. Your friends often joke that you know someone everywhere you go.

🎯You enjoy talking to people. Networking and building relationships is fun to you.

🎯The idea of cold calling or being dropped into a room full of strangers at an event doesn't make you want to puke.
